Juggling Motherhood and Sanity—Because Sleep is for the Weak!

Susan Sharp Pulliam

Born in Baton Rouge, LA in 1956, she grew up in South Louisiana as the oldest of 4 children. Her parents were married for 48 years and provided a loving, stable home. She was a typical teenager with a love of dance and swimming. At 16, those passions took a nosedive when she was in a car accident that left her left leg temporarily paralyzed. Her once happy & carefree life was changed—her happiness returned and she learned to look at life with more appreciative eyes. She learned to live her life with a smile for everyone and to treat people the way she hopes to be treated.

Susan has been married to the love of her life, Chuck, for 45 years. As her parents did for her & her siblings, Susan & Chuck have strived to provide a loving & stable home for their 2 sons. They have emphasized the need for a good education and have supported their sons throughout their lives to give them a good foundation. Their sons have grown to be excellent fathers and businessmen. The pride Susan has for her family exceeds all she ever dreamed could be.

Susan loves to volunteer—from helping with her young sons soccer teams and schools in LA & OK, to helping with the community food banks in OK & AL. Susan hopes the recipient of this scholarship will be encouraged to do the same in your lifetime…value your education opportunities and give back to your community and those around you.
